On May 27th, the SAIF International Expert Board (IEB) of Program Development and Closed-door Forum held its inauguration ceremony. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, distinguished international experts, and representatives who gathered to mark the establishment of the IEB. Among the attendees were Ping Wang, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government; Kuiling Ding, President of SJTU, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SJTU Committee, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Guangshao Tu, Executive Director of SAIF; and Zhenrong Sun, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
During the ceremony, Wang and Ding delivered speeches welcoming the IEB and congratulated its establishment, highlighting the importance of its role in enhancing the quality of program development and talent cultivation in SAIF, as well as its significance in serving the development needs of Shanghai. They expressed their hope that the IEB would leverage the expertise of its members to provide insightful recommendations to SAIF and contribute to the construction of Shanghai as an International Financial Center.
The establishment of the IEB aims to strengthen the link between teaching programs and industry practice, promote international engagement, share the changing trends of the industry, and lead the development direction of financial management education. It seeks to provide strategic suggestions on SAIF faculty construction, the curriculum and practice system, global resources integration, and the cultivation of internationally competitive talent. SAIF hopes to leverage its advantages in multidisciplinary Science, Engineering, Economics and Management, and bring in top experts outside the university to provide solutions to industry challenges—and promote the development of practical solutions to real-world problems.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of appointment letters to the experts jointly by Ping Wang, Kuiling Ding, and Guangshao Tu. By facilitating regular communication and in-depth discussion, the IEB will strive to help build SAIF as a “world-class financial institute in China”. It will provide strategic guidance for SAIF's development and reinforce its commitment to delivering a world-class education in financial management.
